There is a new movie entitled “Risen” coming out from Sony Pictures next week that looks promising. It tells the story of the Jesus’ death and resurrection, but through the eyes of an unbelieving Roman soldier. Although I am always very skeptical of anything coming out of the mainstream media, this looks like it might be worth seeing.  Its also staring Joseph Fiennes, who has starred in a number of box office hits, and is a very good actor.

“Roman military tribune Clavius (Joseph Fiennes) remains set in his ways after serving 25 years in the army. He arrives at a crossroad when he’s tasked to investigate the mystery of what happened to Yeshua (Cliff Curtis) following the Crucifixion.

Accompanied by trusted aide Lucius (Tom Felton), hisquest for answers makes him question his own beliefs and spirituality. As his journey takes him to places never dreamed of, the nonbeliever now wonders if there truly is life after death.”
