The Search for Truth

The Battle for the Minds and Souls of our Youth

Young people growing up in modern first world countries are faced with many challenges.  How to deal with the increasing complexities of life, figure out how to navigate the world of technology being thrust upon them, and stay safe in an increasingly dangerous world.

In addition to all of this, young people find that their very belief systems are being attacked as they enter primary school, and move into secondary school and perhaps college. The educational material being used in the state school systems is increasingly turning secular, with an “anti-God” bias throughout.  Teachers are advised not to even speak about God in the classroom, as this might be “offensive” to some children who have been reared by atheistic parents.

The World is Promoting Scientism to Replace Belief in the Creator

What’s left is a secular school system, with Science being elevated in the place of an almighty Creator.  Students are This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is pexels-photo-5212345.jpegtaught that the reality in which we live is the product of an accidental “big bang” billions of years ago, and that humans are just another type of animal created and maintained by the blind forces of progressive evolution. Their teachers and professors maintain that there is no almighty God that started it all, and keeps everything running; rather, the universe just “created itself” by accident, and then evolution took over to get u s to where we are today.  Photo by Max Fischer on Pexels.com

They are further told that there is no purpose to the world, or a purpose to the existence of any particular person. As a result, our youth are led to believe that there is no intrinsic worth of a person – only worth or value insofar as they can maximize their own happiness, of that of “society” as a whole. “Value” is measured in terms of how much power one can acquire, possessions one can accumulate (“the one who dies with the most toys wins”),  or what type of legacy he/she can leave on the world. Because after that, our youth are told, there is nothing more – only “the grave”.

The Terrible Impact of Godless Secular Relativism:  Teen Suicides

There is no heaven, and no “hell” or divine retribution of the evil one might do in this world. They are informed these are all “fairy tales”, made up by uneducated civilizations that had come before – and that now, due to “Science”, we can lay all of these superstitions aside and together face “the Brave New World”. In fact, they are told, there is no objective “right” or “wrong” – what’s right for one person may be wrong for the next.  Truth, and objective standards for morality do not exist – you make up your own “truth”, they are left to conclude.

As a result of the anti-God propaganda our youth are fed in schools, teens and young adults are loosing their sense of purpose in life. They reflect, “If there is no God, and I was not created for a purpose, they why am I here?  Just to acquire wealth?  Pleasure?  Power?  What difference does any of that make, if we all go to the grave in the end anyway?”  Note the impact: the teen suicide rate has sky-rocketed since 2007. According to the Center for Disease Control:

“The suicide rates for adolescent boys and girls have been steadily rising since 2007, The suicide rate for Teen suicide rategirls ages 15 to 19 doubled from 2007 to 2015, when it reached its highest point in 40 years, according to the CDC. The suicide rate for boys ages 15 to 19 increased by 30 percent over the same time period. The analysis looked at data from 1975 to 2015, the most recent year those statistics were available.

The numbers are an alarming reminder that suicide is a growing public health problem. Last year, the CDC released a separate report that found that suicides for the U.S. population as a whole increased 24 percent over a 15-year period.  Source: Huffington Post – 8/4/2017

Mental Health, or a Lost Sense of Purpose?

The issue is being blamed on growing problems with mental health – but although that may be part of the problem, the source may be far deeper – that of a spiritual nature. Our material world ignores the spiritual, but humankind is unique in that we are a tri-part being: spirit, soul and body.  The three elements all interact and affect one another.

The faith in God of our young people is under attack as they progress through our systems –

  • in the primary schools, and secondary schools, by teachers forced to use secular, anti-God material promoting a materialist philosophy
  • in the colleges by atheistic, Godless professors who proudly attack any belief in God by a student
  • by the media – television programs that promote an anti-God, secular agenda
  • in the movies, with films that promote success and value as the accumulation of wealth, power and control
  • by parents who neglect the spiritual nurturing of their children, being so wrapped up in the race for materialistic success

When a youth, or anyone for that matter, is left without a sense of purpose, and no connection with their Creator in the form of a spiritual life and relationship with their Maker – the mind, and in turn the body suffer.  And eventually perish – either by suicide, or some other senseless reason.

Where is Hope? What is the Solution to this Crisis of Unbelief?

The only solution to this terrible crisis of unbelief is for the people of our nation, and other first world nations, to “repent”, and turn from their ways, and again seek the favor of their Creator. We see an example of this in the bible,This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is be-with-your-teens.jpg God’s love letter to His creation, when the people of Nineveh finally listened to the prophet Jonah, and made a decision to turn from their evil ways:

So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying,

Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?” (Jonah 3:5-9)

Turning Back to God our Creator, and the One He Sent to Redeem Us!

As a result of their repentance, God prevented the terrible consequences of their ways to befall them.  The city was saved from disaster. We need to do the same today, and turn back to the living God across the land – in every state, town, and school across the land. Those of faith that do believe in God need to act, and sound the alarm to their city, state and national representatives – that we need to:

  • Turn from our selfish and materialistic ways
  • Put God back into the primary, secondary schools and colleges
  • Stop with the anti-God secular school agenda
  • Allow prayer back into the schools, and into the champers of our government

Regardless of what you have read or been told, the United States was founded and established by people of faith who left Europe to escape persecution. We were blessed by amazing leaders who had a firm faith in God their Maker, and as a result, our country was blessed with a firm foundation of laws and sound government, and has accomplished remarkable things over the past 200 years.

Why Jesus the Messiah? Its Not About Religion, its About Relationship!

The truth is that we are all created to be in relationship  with our Maker We all have a “God-sized” hole in
our hearts – a hole that  we try to fill with all sorts of things – possessions, success, money, sex, etc.  But in the endJesus - God Manifested in the Flesh none of this truly satisfies.  And no other religious figure can bring you into a personal relationship with the LORD – because as it is written, “there is no other name given among men by which we must be  saved”.

Religion cannot save – only a relationship with the one true God though the Savior He sent to bring us back into a right relationship with Him – Yeshua the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

He is the One who has loved you from all eternity and created you to have a personal relationship with Him.  In  reality there is only thing that can fill this void:  Jesus.  Why?  Because only Jesus fulfilled the over 300 prophecies in the Law, the Psalms, and in the writings of the Prophets. No One else. Only Jesus lived the perfect life than no man could do, fulfill all the requirements of the Law, then voluntarily lay down His life for the sins of all mankind.  Through His sacrificial death, burial and resurrection, anyone who believes and trusts in Him can be saved, and have new LIFE now, for for eternity!  Only Jesus rose from the grave, soon to return for all those that trust in Him! Yes, Jesus is UNIQUE – only Jesus bridges the gap between Man and Maker.
.
Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?
If you do, then you have everything to look forward to – in this life, and in  the life to come.  Peace with God, joy in your daily life, fulfillment of  God’s purpose while here on earth, and life eternal.  You were made for a purpose, and your daily walk with  Jesus will help you come to realize His purpose in your life and fulfill it.  If you don’t have a relationship with your Creator, you can!  Give Jesus a  chance!  Don’t put it off.  Allow Him to come into your life and make you “a new creation”!   You have nothing to loose everything to gain.  Here is a  link to Billy Graham’s web site that can show you how you can invite Jesus into  your life and be the creation He has always intended you to be …
