Is the Baha’i Faith Compatible with Christianity?

The literature and promotional websites for the Baha’i Faith claim that one can accept the Baha’i Faith and remain a committed Christian. But is this the case?

To be a Christian, you must acknowledge that you are a sinner, in need of a Savior. You must then “repent”, and be willing to be changed into a new creature in accordance with God’s will for your life. You must then confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, in order to be saved. You must Jesus .. the Man in White believe not only with your mind, but also with your heart – receiving Him into your heart. For it says “as many as received Him, to the gave He the power to become the sons of God” (John 1).

What else is it that you are called to believe and to do as a Christian, according to the bible, and the words of the Lord Jesus?

Believe the essential doctrines of Christianity (encapsulated in the Nicene Creed) that there is one God, the Father of all, Creator of Heaven and earth. That God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit – one God in three persons.
Believe that Jesus is the “one and only” Son of God; that Jesus alone is the “image of the invisible God”, and that He is the alone is “the Way, the Truth, and the Life”. This a major difference – the Baha’i religion states the Jesus is only one of many messengers sent from God. This is a demonic doctrine. To be saved you must reject the notion the Jesus is just one of many “divine manifestations”. The bible says “there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved”. That means NO OTHER NAME. That Jesus was the ONE and ONLY “God come in the flesh” – that He was God who came down for our sakes, took on a human body, lived a sinless, sacrificial life, then willingly died on a cross and paid the penalty for your sins and the sins of all humanity – past, present and future.
Believe that He rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will come again to judge the living and the dead at the last day.
Repent, believe with your mind, and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart by His Spirit – so that He may put His Holy Spirit within you, to regenerate your spirit, and make you a new creation in Christ. He will begin to change you from the inside out, and day be day, you will experience new joy in Jesus! Your living faith in Jesus will then produce “good works” – giving of your time, resources and talents to others, helping, serving, and doing what Christ did as He gave us example. Day be day your life will begin to look a little more like the life of Jesus – which is what being a Christian is all about!

The Baha’i Faith religious material, web sites, and publications claim that you can accept and believe in the teaching of the Bahai, and still believe and accept the teaching of the bible – and remain a Christian. But is that really true? NO! As the bible says, “there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is the way of death”. As the saying goes, “looks can be deceiving“, and this is one of those cases where many are being deceived by this pleasant sounding false religion.

Indeed there are some admirable qualities of the Baha’i religion. They promote peace, love, positive virtues, and even aspects of the Christian faith. But there are striking contradictions to Christianity, and what the bible teaches. You cannot in truth “become a Baha’i” and remain a Christian. If you accept the Baha’i teachings, you are rejecting many of the teaching of the bible, and of Jesus Christ.

Do not be deceived! The evil one has been and is a deceiver from the beginning, and this religion, although it sounds and looks good at first glance, is in direct contradiction with what the bible teaches, and with the core tenets of Christianity.

What is the Baha’i Faith?

The Baha’i Faith is one of the newer world religions, promoting the oneness of God, the unity of humanity, and the essential harmony of all religions. According to the messaging on their web site, Baha’is believe in “peace, justice, love, altruism, and unity”. Their web site also proclaims that their teachings “promote the agreement of science and religion, the equality of the sexes, and the elimination of all prejudice and racism”.

Sounds like a religion “tailor made” for today, especially when one considers the issues we struggle with in the 21st century. One could almost say that this is a religion designed for the “post modern era”. A “feel good” religion. Baha’i messaging claims they are the “world’s second most widespread religion after Christianity” (what ever that means), and that they are “working to unite it” (the world). Interesting – could this be the seed of a new “one world religion?”. This is in stark contrast to what Jesus said, when asked by Pilate “where is your kingdom?” What did Jesus say? “My kingdom is not of this world”. The world was turned over to the evil one when humankind fell and rebelled against their Creator. But take care – Jesus is coming back, to bring His reign as King of kings again upon the earth. He will take possession of the earth once again.

According to their teachings: ‘The millions of Baha’is in the world come from every ethnicity, nationality, tribe, age, racial group, religious background and economic and social class. Gentle, peaceful, warm and welcoming, diverse Baha’i communities exist just about everywhere. Baha’is accept the validity of each of the founders and prophets of the major world religions, and believe in progressive revelation, the unique Baha’i principle that views every great Faith as a link in a single spiritual system progressively revealed by God to humanity.” (Source: http://bahaiteachings.org/bahai-faith). The problem is, one cannot logically “accept” the validity of all of the major world regions? Why? Because each make conflicting claims that cannot be reconciled logically (see below for more on this topic). While it IS true that “there are many paths to God”, there is only one WAY to everlasting life, and oneness with God’s family for eternity – and that is Jesus Christ. All these other religions will lead you to God, but then what what will you say when you stand before Him? The Bible says “He that has the Son has life, but he that does NOT have the Son has not life.” (1 John 5:12). Wide is the path to destruction, but narrow is the path that leads to eternal life. Only Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6). That is an outrageous claim. Either you accept it, or reject it. You cannot ignore it.

Where Did the Baha’i Faith Come From?

The Bahá’í Faith was founded by Bahá’u’lláh in 19th-century Persia. Bahá’u’lláh was exiled for his teachings from Persia ‘Abdu’l-Bahá_portrait to the Ottoman Empire and died while officially still a prisoner. After Bahá’u’lláh’s death, under the leadership of his son, `Abdu’l-Bahá, the religion spread from its Persian and Ottoman roots, and gained a footing in Europe and America, and was consolidated in Iran, where it suffers intense persecution.^[3] After the death of `Abdu’l-Bahá, the leadership of the Bahá’í community entered a new phase, evolving from a single individual to an administrative order with both elected bodies and appointed individuals.^[4] There are probably more than 5 million Bahá’ís around the world in more than 200 countries and territories.^[5]^{[note 2] (}Source: Wikipedia)

The Main Teachings of the Baha’i Faith

In the Bahá’í Faith, religious history is seen to have unfolded through a series of divine messengers, each of whom established a religion that was suited to the needs of the time and to the capacity of the people. These messengers have included

Abrahamic figures—Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, as well as
Figures from Indian religions like Krishna, Buddha,
and others.

In other words, Jesus is just one of many “messengers”. For Bahá’ís, the most recent messengers are the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh. In Bahá’í belief, each consecutive messenger prophesied of messengers to follow, and Bahá’u’lláh’s life and teachings fulfilled the end-time promises of previous scriptures. Humanity is understood to be in a process of collective evolution, and the need of the present time is for the gradual establishment of peace, justice and unity on a global scale.^[6](Source: Wikipedia)

The problem with this notion is that Jesus was totally and completely unlike any other so-called “messenger”. No one else even comes close. Only Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament concerning the coming of a promised “Holy One” or Messiah from God. Only Jesus performed spectacular miracles to validate His claims – such as healing hundred of blindness, lameness, deafness, paralzed, possession by daemons, feeding thousands from a few loaves and fishes. And most of all, only Jesus raised from the dead – while all these other so-called messenger still lay in their graves. And only Jesus will return to wrap up this present age as the Lion, the Judge of all of humanity.

Examining Major Baha’i Teachings – Are the Compatible with Christianity?

Baha’i: One God Who Educates Through “Successive Revealed Religions”

Claim: “Baha’is believe in one God, eternal in the past and the future, who loves and progressively educates humanity through successive revealed religions. The Baha’i writings say that the Creator is an “unknowable essence,” far beyond the capacity of creation to comprehend. To aid and enlighten us, God has provided humanity with divinely-inspired prophets and messengers throughout history, who founded the world’s great Faiths and brought ethical, moral and spiritual teachings to everyone.” (Source: http://bahaiteachings.org/bahai-faith)

What the bible teaches: Yes indeed, the bible teaches, and Jesus affirmed, that there is One God. But the bible says nothing about Him revealing Himself through “successive religions”. In fact, much of the New Testament warns believers about false Christs, and those that would lead Christians astray. Contrary to what Baha’i teaches, the bible teaches, and Christianity affirms, that far from being an “unknowable essence”, our God is a personal God. One God in Jesus - God in the Flesh three “persons” – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Christians have a personal relationship with the Father, the Creator on the Universe, through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ! The bible tells believers to “hold fast” to the truth that was delivered to you. While it is true that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, guides into understanding the scriptures, and lights our path, He does not do that through additional scriptures. The bible is one, complete revelation from God to humankind, from Genesis to Revelation. And a serious warning is given in both the Old and New Testaments “not to add to, or subtract from” the scriptures.

So Christianity fundamentally differs from Baha’i in that Christianity is all about a relationship with God through Jesus Christ – not a religion of “works”. God wants each of His creatures to know Him through Jesus: The bible says in Revelation, “Behold I stand at the door [or your heart]. If any person opens the door, I will come into him, and fellowship with him, and he with me”. Islam, Buddhism and other religions are also about following certain prescribed rules, and reaching up to God for acceptance .But religion is not the way to God, and never has been. In fact, its been the source of wars and conflicts throughout history. Christianity is starkly different – its about God, reaching down in Christ Jesus to all of humankind, His beloved creatures, and breaking into creation as a baby, taking on the form of a person – Jesus Christ; living a sinless life among us, and paying the price for our sins through a sacrificial death so that we could be brought back into a right relationship with the Father. That is why Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me.” There is no other way – not any one of these false prophets will do. Only Jesus.

In contradiction to Baha’i’s claim that God is an “unknowable essence”, Christianity proclaims that indeed we can get to know God, our Heavenly Father. In fact, Jesus came so that we might know what the Father looked like, and sounded like. Jesus is the “image of the invisible God”, and when one believes in Jesus as Lord, and accepts Him into his/her heart”, one is filled with Christ’s Spirit – the Holy Spirit – and begins what will become an eternal relationship with the one true God, through Jesus Christ.

Baha’i Claims to be the Essential “Unity of All Religions”, but it is a Fake

Claim: “The Baha’i teachings center around unity, and Baha’is believe in the essential unity of all religions. Baha’u’llah emphasized the importance of unity, oneness and harmony in all human interactions, and said that the collective maturation of the human race has now brought us to the stage in our development where we can recognize our interdependence. What the bible teaches: First, there are not many “paths” to God, but in fact only ONE path. Jesus in fact said “I am the Door of the sheepfold. Anyone who tries to come in any other way is a thief and a robber”. And in another place “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me.”.

Second, all of the major world religions make conflicting claims that cannot be reconciled. Each religion makes exclusive claims that rule out other religions, and such claims cannot logically be reconciled with the claims of other religions. For example, lets look at the the key claims of two major world religions, vs. Christianity:

Islam’s claims vs. Christianity

Islam claims that the Quran is the final revelation from Allah (God), and that Mohammed is His Prophet; that following the teachings of the Quran religiously (good works) is the only path to Paradise; and that hat Jesus (Isa) was only a minor prophet who did not die on a cross or resurrect from the dead. These claims are in direct contradiction to what Christ taught, and what Christianity teaches: namely, that the bible is the complete and final written word of God; that Jesus is the One an Only Son of God, God in human form, holy, pure and righteous – unlike any other person that has ever lived; and finally, that Jesus did indeed die, was buried, and was brought back to life; ascended into heaven, to one day return and rule over the kingdoms of this world. Buddhism’s claims vs. Christianity

The Buddha taught that one could follow the “Eight Fold Path”, and through one’s own selfless efforts, eventually attain “enlightenment”. Buddhism teaches that there is no one all powerful “Creator” God who “judges” people, and rewards or punishes (in contradiction to Islam, and Christianity). There is no “soul” in Buddhism – this is but an illusion, according to Buddhism (in contrast to what the bible says, and Jesus taught). There is also no “savior” recognized in Buddhism, since Buddhism does not recognize the existence of “sin”. Liberation is the responsibility of each individual, and the goal is to free oneself from all desires so that one might eventually achieve “nirvana” – essentially the “absorption” into the universe.

These Religions All Make Claims in Contradiction to Each Other, and to Christianity:

Christianity claims that the bible is the special written revelation from God, and that one is saved into eternal life (heaven) by “grace through faith”, and that salvation is “not of ourselves, not of works – lest anyone should boast”. In contradiction to Baha’i, Islam and Buddhism, we cannot save ourselves through “good works” to become justified before a holy God. Salvation is a gift from our Creator. Belief and trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ upon the cross is our justification before a holy God – being saved and accepted by God is not the result of any good works that we have done. To be sure, good works are encouraged, but they are not and cannot be the basis for salvation. We are saved by grace through faith in the finished work that Jesus did! Praise the Lord!

In contrast to what the Bahai Faith claims – that Jesus is only one of many “divine messengers”, the bible teaches otherwise. Jesus is presented as the one and only unique “Son of God” – unlike any other human in history. In Jesus, the eternal Creator God “became flesh”, and “dwelt among us”. (John 1). No other human can claim this position. And unlike any other human in history, Jesus lived a perfect sinless life, and then He willing laid down His life as a “ransom for many” – paying the price for all of humanities sins, past, present and future. Jesus is our salvation, our redemption, our Way back to the Father. There is no other way, in contradiction to what the Baha’i Faith and these other religions say.

Baha’i: Jesus Christ was Just Another Prophet Like Moses

Claim: Baha’i tries to position Jesus as just another holy person, not unlike Moses, Abraham, Krishna, Buddha, Zoroaster, etc: “Baha’is accept, respect and revere the religions of Abraham, Moses, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Muhammad, and also the sacred traditions of the prophets and teachers of indigenous peoples whose names written history may never have recorded. The Baha’i Faith encompasses, embraces and advances the past teachings of all those great Faiths, and Baha’is view Baha’u’llah as the most recent of these divine teachers. What the bible teaches: While the bible does teach that Jesus was a prophet, it also teaches that He was and is so much more than a prophet. This is what Baha’i fails to acknowledge – that Jesus made claims that no other prophet ever made, and performed signs and wonders to confirm His uniqueness, unlike any other prophet. He alone claimed to the one and only Son of God, and Son of Man – the one “Way” back to the Father.

In fact, if one studies the Old Testament, one can view over 300 prophecies that point forward to the coming of the Messiah, the promised deliver of the people and Savior of the world. Jesus told the scribes that if they had known about what Moses wrote, you would know Me, since he wrote about Me. No other prophet was born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, and then gave His life as an offering or a “ransom for many” to save human kind from their fallen state. No other prophet made the claims that Jesus made, performed the miracles He did to validate His claims, and no prophet rose from the dead. Jesus said “I am the resurrection and the life – he that lives and believes in Me shall never die”. He was and is the unique “image of the invisible God”, the Door, the Bread of Life, the Way the Truth and the Life. Baha’i: Human Nature is “Fundamentally Noble and Spiritual”

Claim: That Human Nature is fundamentally noble and spiritual. This is another confusing claim from Baha’i. That something is spiritual does not make it “noble”. Here is the quote from their web site: “Baha’is believe that human nature is fundamentally spiritual, and that our souls make us noble beings. Although we all temporarily exist in our physical bodies here on Earth, Baha’u’llah taught, our true identities reside in our eternal souls. The primary purpose of each human soul, the Baha’i teachings say, is to know and to love God. Baha’is do not believe in doctrines of original sin or ultimate evil—instead, the Baha’i teachings say, each person can make the choice to characterize his or her life with divine attributes”. What the bible teaches: The bible does teach that each human is an eternal soul – this the bible agrees on with Baha’i. But the bible also teaches just the opposite – that humans are fundamentally flawed by having received a “sin nature” – a natural inclination not to be noble, but rather unspiritual and selfish. The bible also teaches Angry_man that humans are a tri-part entity – spirit, soul and body. But that apart from Christ, each of us are “spiritually dead” in our trespasses and sins. Without Christ, humans exist only on two levels – a fleshly level, and a “soulish” level. The spirit is dead; there is no spirit that has been “made alive”, to commune with Christ and the eternal Creator. Apart from Christ, humans are led by their fleshly nature, with their mind following fleshly desires. They are far from “noble”, and that fact that we have a soul does not NOT make us noble. In fact, the bible, and our own experience teaches us that “the heart (the innermost being) is deceitful and desperately wicked”. The bible teaches what we actually know to be true from practical experience – that an unregenerate person is selfish, and far from naturally noble. They cannot understand the things of the Spirit, for they are “spiritually dead”.

When a person believes in their mind, and receives Jesus into their heart, something amazing happens: they become “born again”. Their spirit is regenerated – made alive by the power of the Holy Spirit – which comes in and resides in each new believer. At that point, they begin to “walk in the spirit”, communing with God through prayer. They are able to be led by God’s Spirit, with their mind and body following the spirit’s lead. At this point a person can begin to become “noble”, which is acting unselfishly, in the interest of what’s right, putting the interests of others before one’s self

Christianity also teaches the doctrine of “original sin”, which Baha’s denies – that “in Adam” (the first human), we all sinned – and that this “sin nature” has been passed down through the chain of humanity to all of us. None of us can escape this “stain” of original sin. The bible says “there is none righteous, no not one”, and that we have all ‘fallen short of the glory of God”. Our “natural” inclination is not to do good, but just the opposite – to be selfish, and to sin. But the good news is that God, our heavenly Father, has provided a “solution” to this sin problem, and that solution to the “sin problem” is found in the person of Jesus Christ. God must be just, and punish sin; but he also is loving, and loves His creation. And that is why He became flesh, in the form of Jesus, and paid the price for all of humankind’s sins on a cross – so that He could remain just, but also the justifier of all of creation.

And while it is true that we are able to make choices, we cannot through our own power “characterize our life with divine attributes”, as the Baha’i Faith claims. This was after all the lie of the devil in the garden – that “you can become like God” under your own power. Do not fall for this lie! “You must be born again”, as Jesus said. Only then can God’s Spirit begin to recreate you from the inside out, making you a new creature, one who longs to follow God and do what’s right. That is the way to spiritual maturity, and the path to becoming more like Christ.

Baha’i Teachings that are Compatible with Christianity

There appear to be a number of teaching that the Baha’i Faith promotes that are compatible with Christianity, and in fact may have been “borrowed” from the bible and the teaching of Jesus. But this should not be surprising, since once can find examples of truthful and beneficial teaching in many of the other world religions. However, just because the Baha’i Faith promotes these teachings does not make the religion compatible with Christianity. It still denies the unique deity of Jesus Christ, as the one and only Son of God – the second person of the Trinity; it denies the reality of a “sin nature”, and the need for repentance and deliverance for each person by a Savior; promotes the idea of salvation and journey to “divinity” by good works, as opposed to salvation by grace alone through Jesus Christ. Below are some examples of teachings that Baha’i’s promote that appear to be compatible with what the bible teaches:

Seeking the Truth – Jesus taught “seek the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free”. The bible teaches us to seek Wisdom, and when we find it, to hold fast to the truth. In fact, Jesus declared Himself to be the very embodiment of truth, for He said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life”, So, always seek the truth, but be sure that you believe in and have received the living Truth, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior. Then you will grow in knowledge, grace, and wisdom.

Banishing prejudice – Indeed, Christianity has been from the very start all about banishing prejudice. Jesus, meeting the Samaritan woman at the well, cross racial and cultural boundaries to reach out to people that were discriminated against. He touched and healed lepers. He dined with tax collectors and sinners. So this is fundamentally Christian.

The Oneness of Humanity – Christianity agrees with this principle, in the sense that ALL of humanity “has sinned, and fallen short of the glory of God”. “There is none that does good, no not one” the scripture says in another place. All of humanity has sinned “in Adam”, and ALL of humanity can be saved “in Christ” from the doom of sin – if only each of us accept Jesus Christ as God’s free gift of salvation.

Religion Should Cause Love, Affection and Joy – Indeed Jesus stressed that “in this shall they know that you are my followers, in that you have love for one another”. Yes, true religion should cause love, affection and joy. But unfortunately, unless one is changed and born again spiritually, and filled with Christ’s Spirit, the person is still subject to the old “sin nature” of selfishness – which leads to lack of affection, conflict, and eventually despair. With Christ living inside, you become a “new creation”, and Jesus begins to transform you from the inside out. You still fall, but Christ lifts you up by His Spirit, and you begin to be more loving, treating others with kindness, and joy begins to fill your life. Jesus said “I am come that you might have joy, and that your joy may be made full”.

The Harmony of Science and Religion – True science will never conflict with the bible, as the Author of scientific truth, and the Author of the bible, are one in the same – God. A belief in an Almighty Creator provides the framework within which science can operate, since for science to work at all, an orderly universe with dependable laws of physics must exist. Science provide us with the ability to repeal and reject religious teachings, as well as to affirm them. For example, the eastern religious belief that the world was divine and eternal was disproven by science when it was established that a “singularity” (the Big Bang) occurred 13.7 billion years ago, resulting in time, space and all matter coming into existence from literally nothing. And while this discovery disproved the religious views of many eastern religions, it at the same time supported what the bible declared in Gen 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”.

The Power of the Holy Spirit – .Its interesting the Baha’i would claim to promote the teaching of the Power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, would “testify of Me” – not testify of the Baha’i Faith! So the Holy Spirit, which is according to Christianity, one of the three Persons of the Godhead, is focused on teaching and leading believers into “all truth”, learning and growing in the knowledge of Christ Jesus. He comes into the heart of a new believer when they accept Christ, teaches a believer the truths contained God’s word the bible, and leads a believer in his/her daily walk.

There are other teachings that the Baha’i literature promotes that make it very “palatable” to people in the 21st century: compulsory education for all; equality of the sexes; abolishing poverty, and “human rights” for all. Paying particular emphasis to these points makes this religion appear very “cool and hip” to many people today, as they don’t have to acknowledge that they are a sinner; don’t need to repent and change their ways (after all, there is no such thing as “sin”). They can accept Buddha, Mohammad, and Jesus, falling for the lie that these are all just different messengers from God. And they can “work my way” to divinity through good works, and help progress humanity to love, peace and harmony. But this just will not work, because although it sounds good, its a lie. Just because I say there is “no gravity” does not mean that if I step off a cliff, I won’t fall to my death. There is such a thing as a law of gravity, and in the same way, there is a law of sin and of death that are at work in the members of every unregenerate person. This leads to selfishness, hatred, racism, and the wars that plague humanity.

Who has conquered death, and can potentially give everlasting spiritual life to every living person? None other that Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He alone is our Redeemer, our Bread of Life, and the source of our eternal life. There is “no other name given under heaven by which we can be saved”, as the scripture says. Only Jesus. And it is through Him that one day the Kingdom of God will become the Kingdom of God upon the earth (hint: see the last book of the bible!)

Summary: Why the Baha’i Faith is Incompatible with Christianity

It is clear that there are many admirable teachings that are a part of the Baha’i religion. But a number of its main teachings are in direct conflict with what the bible teaches, what Jesus actually said, and what Christianity is all about. One cannot accept and believe in the teaching of Baha’i, and also be a Christian. One must choose one or the other. You cannot have it both ways. Why?

Human Nature is NOT “Fundamentally Noble and Spiritual”, contrary to what the Baha’i Faith teaches. The bible declares that “all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.” We are not all “fundamentally” noble and spiritual – in fact, we are all fundamentally born into a state of “sin”, in need of a Savior. We are by nature sinful, selfish, and self seeking. You cannot “save yourself”, or attain any level of “godhood” through your own works. Only by believing and receiving Jesus can a person be saved, and changed by God into a “new creature”, who can than carry out those “good works” that God has prepared for them in advance. This is the Good News, and God’s promise according to the scriptures.

Contrary to what the Baha’i Faith teaches, God does not “Educate Through Successive Revealed Religions”. This is another deception promoted by the evil through this religion. God’s plan has never been to reveal Himself through a series of religions. According to the bible, there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all..” (Eph 4:5). There is no support for multiple successive revealed religions. In fact, Jesus, and His followers, specifically warned against false Christs, and those that would lead the believers in the church astray – especially in the “last days”: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Tim 4:1) The bible encourages believers to “stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle (2 Thes 2:15)

The Notion that there is an Essential “Unity of All Religions” is False. All of the major world religions make conflicting claims which cannot be reconciled. Islam claims to be the only true religion, with Mohammed as its prophet. Buddhism claims that there is no Almighty Creator that we have to give account to, and that the path to “enlightenment” is to follow the teachings of Buddha. Hinduism claims that there is not one God, but thousands of “gods”. The major world religions each make exclusive claims, which necessarily conflict with one another, and with Christianity and the bible. The idea that all religions have an essential unity is nonsense. Either Jesus is who He said He was, or not. He is either Lord, Liar or a Lunatic. Most do not accept that notion that Jesus was a liar. Based everything that is written Jesis is the Answer about Him, He clearly told the truth – and in fact claimed to be the Truth in bodily form. No one believes Jesus to be a Lunatic, since His teachings and life are a testimony to the sanest man that ever lived. So is He Lord? Jesus said “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life – no one comes to the Father except through Me. You must make your choice.

In Contrast to What Baha’i Teaches, Jesus Christ is NOT “Just Another Prophet Like Moses”. The Baha’i Faith tries to position Jesus Christ along side Abraham, Moses, “Krishna”, Buddha, Zoroaster, Muhammad, and others. And wouldn’t you know, the Baha’s founders are supposed to be the latest examples of the “progressive revelation” of God I am sorry, but Jesus stands above and beyond any other so-called holy person or prophet. Only Jesus was nailed to a cross for humankind’s sins, died, was buried in a tomb for 3 days, and rose from the dead. All of these other holy men are still buried in the ground. Only Jesus performed the kind of awesome miracles that only God in human flesh could do – replicated food to feed 5,000; calm a violently stormy seas with a word; made the blind see, the deaf hear, and the lame walk; and walked on water. On top of all this, only Jesus fulfilled over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament about His coming. No, I am sorry but we must solidly reject this claim that Jesus was just another “divine manifestation”. Jesus was and is the one and only Son of God, God Himself come in the form of a person, to set us free from the bondage of sin and death. There is no other way to be saved – “for no other name is give among men by which we must be saved.”

Don’t Be Deceived! Give Your Life to Jesus and Follow Him!

What should you do, now that you know these things? No other “religious” leader made the claims of Jesus, and no other man rose from the dead. Period. Only the Lord Jesus. Only Jesus made the claim to be “The Way, the Truth, and the Life. Only Jesus claimed to be “the Resurrection and the Life”, saying that anyone who believed and trusted in Him “would never die”.

Why don’t you give Jesus a chance? Pray a simple prayer and ask Him, if He is who He claims to be, to come into your life and make you the person you were made to be. Ask Him to prove the He is the only Way, Truth and the Life! He created you, after all, so why not give Him a chance to give you the best He has to offer?
