Why Christianity is Different

People think in terms of words, and relate to one another in words. You could call these “narratives” – the way you talk to your self, and to others. In fact, most people routinely engage in a “moral performance narrative” – touting their performance, and basing their self image and notion about self worth (and the worth of others) on the thoughts and words that make up such a narrative. But what does this lead to? What are the results of this sort of narrative?

On the other hand, some are engaged in a “grace narrative” in thinking about themselves and others. What is this all about, and what sort of results proceed from this type of narrative?
